Fire broke out at a private hospital at 5.30 this morning and the patients were totally caught unaware by this. 2 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to Palace guttahalli to douse the flames which were finally brought under control after almost one hour.
15 patients have been rescued but many patients are feared to be trapped inside the hospital and rescue operations are on to get the patients out. This incident happened at the Bilva hospital near the auto stand.
The Vyalikaval police rushed to the spot and filed a complaint and on initial investigations it has been learnt that a short circuit in the AC was the reason behind the fire.
It is also being determined whether all the safety precautions had been taken by the hospital authorities or was there any lapse. As it was a super speciality hospital patients in the Intesive care unit and maternity ward along with the nursing mothers and infants were rushed out.
