Hayabusa WRM202 Weedless Wacky SP Hook on Bedding Bass

Brandon Hewitt here with BRandom Fishing and I have a good one for you today! The bass are spawning down here in Texas and my friend Tim and I go out and test the new weedless wacky hook by Hayabusa. This hook is not like normal weedless wacky hooks that have a metal or plastic “guard” in front of the hook point. Those style of weedguards actually pick up more weeds and really only help to keep you from snagging on rocks and stumps. This WRM202 hook is truly weedless! I mean as weedless as a Texas rig. You can let it sink down into the weeds while you are picking out a backlash, haha, and it comes right back out without even picking up any weeds.

For bed fishing this was crucial. You can just let the worm drop on the bed and not have to worry about a small piece of weed getting caught on the hook that would give away your presentation. I started with the regular owner wacky hook on one rod and the weed less one on the other rod. I soon switched both rods to the weedless hook because it was very clear the advantage it had.

I started using a Gary Yamamoto senko because when it is fished on a normal wacky rig with the o ring, it works so well. They are not durable and only last a couple fish, but they put up numbers for sure. The Zinker Z fished on a normal wacky rig just didn't have the action that I like from the GY. With this new hook the way it goes through the worm and hooks back in, makes the worm stay in a u shape and this helped the action so much. It was like it was made to be fished this way and I was able to catch 5 fish on one worm. The only thing about the ZMan worm is that when it gets used up, the salt comes out and it does not sink as fast. The worm is still in good shape but cannot be fished weightless because of the buoyancy. I like to keep these used worms in a separate package because they work better for Texas rigging because of the way the like to float a little. I learned a lot this trip and I purchased a couple more packs of these hooks and a couple more packs of the Zman Zinker Z ElaZtec worms!
