Rest in peace peep :(
“November” is a collaboration between artists Lil Peep and ILoveMakonnen, expected to appear on the pair’s joint album titled Diamonds.
The song was first previewed by Peep himself in an Instagram post that he shared on August 31, 2017, captioned “@ilovemakonnen @smokeasac album of the century”. It eventually leaked in full-length, studio quality on April 22, 2020.
Sonically, the track is one of the more upbeat picks from Peep’s catalogue. For the most part, a drum-heavy rhythm punctuated with ample bass guitar sets the stage for both artist’s vocals which are surprisingly cheerful considering the melancholy lyrics that reference isolation and “bleeding out”.
Towards the end, a shift from emo rap to cloud rap kicks in, with light-sounding keyboards bringing the song to a beautiful finish. Makonnen takes the verses which show him feeling sorrowful, alone and reflecting on a failed relationship, while Peep completes the addictively catchy but downcast and reminiscent chorus sections
