Tom Randall on the first ascent of The Final Round (8a+/b, HXS) at Ilam Rock, Dovedale in the UK. The route is the hardest traditional route on limestone in the iconic Peak District for many years, despite it being one of the busiest climbing areas in the world.

Tom talks us through Ilam Rock and how spectacular it is to climb. Placing gear got Tom considerably hotter and more pumped than expected. Trying to recover and relax whilst placing and fiddling the gear can prove to be a real challenge.
