This may be the province’s most important election in decades. Not since 1970 has a party other than the Liberals or PQ held power in Quebec. Now the Coalition Avenir Québec, a right-of-centre party that has never held power, will form a majority government in the province, dealing a historic blow to the incumbent Liberals.
