Made in 1714, this violin by Francesco Gobetti is incredibly rare as only about 25 Gobetti violins are known to exist. Gobetti was a shoemaker before he became a violin maker and although we do not know where he learned the craft, he is among some of the finest Venetian instrument makers to date.
