I had never built anything larger than an 8'x8' shed, but we had been wanting to construct a small cabin. We stumbled upon this cedar log cabin dealer, and I ended up building this remarkable real cedar log cabin. Unexpected expenses far surpassed the figures the dealer had suggested, ballooning to over 250% of the estimate. I was unaware that the tongue and groove came unsanded, and quickly found out how much work it was to hand sand. Dealer then suggested a 'heavy duty' belt sander, which I bought from HomeDepot, but they didn't carry the sanding scrolls. Then I went to my favorite woodworking shop, Klingspors, but found out, even though they carried the Jet brand, this was a non-standard size sandpaper and needed to be special ordered. I had a $mall crew coming to help and Klingspors saved me by rush shipping the sand paper. Here is just another of many multi-thousand dollar added expenses.
