This month (November 2016) ministers from Australia and New Zealand will vote to determine if palm oil will require mandatory labelling on food products. Currently palm oil can be labelled 200 different ways including simply as 'vegetable oil' making it nearly impossible for consumers to shop ethically. Roots & Shoots Australia is asking the government to vote yes to Recommendation 12 for clear palm oil labelling.
