Dr. Cervantes: When to come and see a dermatologist or your primary care physician. If you've already talked to your primary care physician about your condition and you've already failed treatments, it's time to come in and see the expert. If you have a family history of skin cancer or if you have a lot of moles, it's time to come in and see the expert and you can get those moles individually looked at and make sure that they're not cancerous. If you have a PPO, you don't need a referral. You can come and see us anytime you want to. For anything skin, hair, and nail related we're happy to see you.
