Even though we are now in the year 2025, I wanna take a second to talk about one of the most reported news stories of 2024. And that, of course, is the overwhelming, insane number of people coming across the United States Mexico border every month. We heard it from Republicans running for office. We heard it from media outlets, mostly on the right. Even some on the left though talked about, oh, the immigration crisis. It's so horrible. Some Republican politicians, people like Marjorie Taylor Greene, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz told us that more than a million people were crossing that border every month. Some of those politicians said it was like 5 million people a month. Well, now that 2024 has come to a close. We actually have the numbers, and it turns out the number of people illegally crossing over the southern border between the United States and Mexico dropped last year.
It dropped. It dropped to a low that we had not seen in over four years. Here's the numbers. The number of illegal crossings in November marked an 18% decrease from the previous month and the lowest level since July of 2020. Between June and November, the Department of Homeland Security removed, so we deported 240,000 people in fiscal year 2024. The department also removed more than 700,000 from the country. More than any prior year since 2010. Border patrol agents on the ground have reported a drop in the number of crossing for the last seven months with a 60% decrease occurring between May and November.
Border crossings were down, deportations were up. In fact, the last time we deported this many people was the last time we had a different Democrat as president. So the deportations were actually higher under Democrats, Obama and Biden than they were under hard line immigration hater Donald Trump. Huh? You know, it's weird though, that, of course, this information doesn't get published till after the fact. Right after the election, after the year 2024. Immigration at different times last year was the number one issue for people. Now, ultimately, by the time the election rolled around the economy and inflation of course took over as number one. But there were points last year when immigration was number fing one, and here's the data.
It went down, crossings, down, deportations up. So all of those talking points from those Republican politicians, all of those talking points from the corporate controlled media lies, lies upon lies upon lies to get people to vote Republican. That's what it was about. The numbers are in and they prove that.
