I use several "hacks" when setting up my home theater, and the "Dual Subwoofer Hack" is probably the MOST beneficial... Vv Click "SHOW MORE" vV
"The List", subwoofers that are dramatically deeper, powerful, and SATISFYING, with a much flatter response than typical subs: [ Ссылка ]
This series is about short, easily digestible "hacks" that allow you to get more out of your current setup.
Here is the link to the Bite-sized Bass Hacks playlist (Distance Hack, Gain Hack, etc...): [ Ссылка ]
Those familiar with the channel might wonder how this is a "Hack", as I ALWAYS discuss how important dual subs are. This playlist is designed so that people who are new to the channel can get the most information in the shortest amount of watch time, and if I left out dual subwoofers, it would be a critical omission.
The common/typical configuration is a single subwoofer, and running duals is something typically done by your more dedicated enthusiasts. But I really don't think it should be dismissed as ONLY being for audiophiles and bass geeks like me.
This is a hack for normal people, in fact I think it's one of those changes that are MUCH more noticeable than most upgrades.
I've heard it described as smoother, tighter, cleaner, and even by a viewer named Jeff Werner as a "smooth, milk chocolate sound". I thought his impression of dual subs being "chocolaty" was a unique, yet somehow perfect description! Great, now I'm craving chocolate, thanks Jeff!
Room correction has a tough time with a single subwoofer, because of the standing wave effect. It has a MUCH easier time with dual subwoofers because the sound waves interlace and the standing wave effect is reduced greatly, so it's an effective hack to get your room correction to run better, and that INCLUDES single subwoofer AVR's!
If you don't have a dual subwoofer output AVR, a simple splitter is all you need! (affiliate links)

If you are running a single subwoofer output AVR, it would be worth considering an upgrade, but NOT for the dual subwoofer outputs! Generally, the room correction will be better on a newer AVR. I really enjoy Audyssey XT-32 (no affiliation) and here are a few AVR's that should have it (verify it in the specs to be sure): [ Ссылка ]
I think running "identical" dual subwoofers is ideal, but running 2 different subwoofers will likely still be "better" than a single, just not as composed as matching duals.
Learning Room EQ Wizard (free software) is involved, with a good sized learning curve, but I think the juice is worth the squeeze. It's a good idea to use a properly calibrated microphone like the one I use, the MiniDSP UMIK-1: [ Ссылка ] (affiliate link, which supports this channel)

LG 4K 3D that I replaced previous Vizio with a Square Trade type warranty. Love the LG, some issues aside. Going through Amazon means you can get a decently priced 5 year warranty (strongly recommend for TV's and AVR's)
