When we were traveling through the great state of Montana and we enjoyed a stay at Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park. The park is an easy jaunt off of I90 and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Best of all, there are mountain hiking trails and caverns you can tour!
What we loved about Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park:
1. Large spacious campsites
2. Surrounded by mountains
3. Plenty of room to walk the dogs.
4. Verizon phone service worked!
5. Hiking trails
6. Cavern tours
7. Easy drive from I90
8. History here - Lewis and Clark traveled this way
9. Friendly rangers and staff in the visitor centers, friendly entertaining tour guides
10. ... and after our last "no dump" stop...Dump station!
What we didn't love about Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park:
1. No onsite water - this wasn't really an inconvenience for us, but something to be aware of.
2. Pay showers - $3.00 to start, more quarters for more time
Heads Up: This campground can fill up in the summer. Book ahead.
All in all, we had a good stay at Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park.
