10. Black-Footed Cat
If you were asked what the deadliest cat species in the world is, you might guess a lion, tiger, or even a cheetah, but none of them are anywhere near as lethal as the black-footed cat. Growing to only 20 inches long, these cute creatures don’t look that dangerous, but they can hunt and kill more animals in one night than a leopard does in 6 months. Can you believe it??

9. Sharks
Sharks are notoriously some of the most dangerous predators in the ocean, but we usually only think of them attacking other aquatic creatures like fish and seals. Studies have shown, however, that they also feed upon land animals too… usually by leaping up and snatching them from next to the coast, or taking advantage when something swims into the water.

8. Mongoose
Mongooses are native to Europe, Asia, and Africa and, as a species that is closely related to meerkats, may seem to be cute and friendly, but they’re one of the most badass creatures on the planet. They grow to be about 23 inches long, with a maximum weight of 11 pounds but, while you may not be too concerned about something of that size attacking you, it’s the fact that they prey on animals that virtually every other species would do anything to stay as far away from as possible.

It must be difficult for fish sometimes when they look above the water and see a land animal that they want to eat, but have no way of getting close enough to it. The archer fish, however, has a unique adaptation that gives it the edge in situations like these and makes it one of the most ingenious fish species on earth.

6. Komodo Dragon
Komodo dragons are a species of monitor lizard that are native to 4 Indonesian islands. They are the largest lizards in the world, growing to up to 10 feet long, and can weigh as much as 150 pounds. They are thought to have descended from an ancient species of large lizard, and fossils have been found from 3.8 million years ago that look very similar to the Komodo dragons of today.

5. Deathstalker Scorpion
The deathstalker scorpion is a species that’s native to deserts throughout northern Africa and the middle east, and despite growing to only a few inches long, they are one of the deadliest creatures you could encounter in the region. The reason for this is, of course, the venom that they inject from the stinger in their tails. It’s a potent mix of neurotoxins including Chlorotoxin, Charybdotoxin, Syllatoxin, and three types of Agitoxins. One sting isn’t usually enough to kill a healthy human, but the same can’t be said for the smaller animals which they prey on.

4. Harpy Eagle
Harpy Eagles can be found throughout the rainforest of South America, where they are by far the largest species of raptor. They can be up to 3 and a half feet tall, with a weight of up to around 20 pounds, and are one of the apex predators in the region with virtually no natural predators of their own.

3. Saltwater Crocodile
Saltwater crocodiles live in rivers across Asia and Australia, and in those regions are by far the most dominant and dangerous predators. They can grow to a massive 20 feet long, weigh up to 2,400 pounds, and have rows of viciously sharp teeth that are backed up by the strongest bite of any living creature.

There are countless different dangerous snakes in the world, but the most badass is one that doesn’t even have venom… but instead can grow to be so big that they can overpower and strangle virtually anything else. Green Anacondas are native to the Amazon basin and can grow to more than 18 feet long. What makes them particularly deadly is their bulk, and they are so muscly that they are several feet in circumference.

Typically growing to up to 26 feet long, and weighing as much as 4.5 tons, they are one of the most dominant aquatic predators and will attack virtually anything they set their sights on.
