This is yet another little gem underplayed and overlooked yet a delightful concert opener for every orchestra! The Overture to the Secret of Susanna is from his opera of the same name where Susanna goes thru the entire opera trying to hide the nasty secret that she is....a smoker! It's a comedy of errors from beginning to end and that whimsical and quick little overture perfectly captures Susanna's dashing here and there to hide her habit and pin the blame on someone else! This performance is by the Victoria Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Music Director Darryl One.
