🎥 Canoeing the Zambezi River with wild camping - Part One - Life on the Water

Experience the African safari I went on in Zambia, where i did a canoe safari up the Zambezi River.

🧔 here and I wanted to tell you about my trip to Africa for my 30th birthday.
I booked an adventure trip with @exodustravels called 'The Zambezi Valley' which was a canoe safari 🛶 along the Zambezi River in Zambia, wildlife spotting 🐊 and wild camping ⛺

Day 2-5👇
Four days days canoeing and wildlife watching on the Zambezi River, camping on remote islands.🛶 (so the big cats can't get us )

We had four days canoeing ahead of us with early starts as it is often better to canoe in the early hours when it is not so hot, and more importantly, when the easterly head wind is at its weakest. The pace was gentle to allow us to make the most of wildlife viewing opportunities. However Andy and i did have a slight incident with an overloaded canoe causing a capsize right where a huge crocodile was spotted the day before 💦🐊 Shouts of 'Get you leg out of the water' could be heard from TK

We frequently passed pods of hippos basking in the deeper water who were keeping an eye on us! 🦛 👁️‍🗨️ As we went along the lead canoe would tap the paddle on the canoe which would make the hippos come to the surface and therefore we know where to avoid.

I was really taken back by how many hippos there were and how noisy! Incredible animals and it was such a privilege to get so up and close to these powerful animals.
