Speaking from outside his home in Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discusses the federal government's response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He announces that as of February 15, non-essential travellers entering Canada at land border crossings will have to show a negative COVID-19 test from the previous 72 hours. The prime minister also confirms that the federal government will provide one year of relief from interest payments on certain 2020 tax debt, and that self-employed Canadians who applied for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) based on gross income rather than net will not have to repay the benefit as long as they meet all other eligibility criteria.
