Government data shows that there are more Nepalis than Gujaratis in the Army. And people have frequently targeted Gujaratis for not being in the army and therefore, blamed them for faking patriotism. But, there are various reasons for the lack of participation in the army by Gujaratis. These include historical as well as cultural reasons. And in the end, we should remember that we cannot measure a state's patriotism by the number of soldiers it send to the Army. Gujaratis contributes to the nation in many other ways.
