Sounds from a construction site in the Emerald Hill neighbourhood of Singapore, beside Orchard Road. Taken around 5:30pm on a Saturday afternoon.

It is very difficult, if not impossible, to live too far away from a construction site in the city. Most of the new buildings are residences / condominiums, with a smattering of new malls (two at the bottom of Emerald Hill, one beside the Heeren Centre) and in the CBD, new office buildings (skyscrapers).

Often, existing buildings of around 20 years old are torn down and the plots of land they are on are subdivided and each is then redeveloped into two or more new apartment buildings with smaller apartments inside. The site in the video (111 Emerald Hill) used to be a single condo beside houses and is now being redeveloped into three new ones.
