Have you ever gotten date information for different systems and the dates were different from your local time? I don't mean the format like it was mm/yy/dd versus dd/mm/yyyy. I mean that the systems encoded it in different time zones. One table may have information in GMT or UTC date format and another one has it in GMT -8. You are suppose to reconcile these date to see if they match or even do calculations to see if a duration has been met. It might not be so bad to do it in Excel by calculating the difference of 8 hours for GMT and Pacific Time...but what if you also had to deal with daylight savings time? Uggh...it gets complicated...but not so if you have Power Query. See the video to learn how Power Query makes time zone conversion easier.
