Tread Lightly regardless of the weather conditions when exploring Georgia Off-Road Trails or any trails in your local area. Stay on marked forest roads or trails and do not create any bypasses or new trails. If you lose traction stop, just don't keep spinning your tires, evaluate and use your winch, traction boards etc.

Note: Always use a winch line blanket regardless if using a steel cable or synthetic line. I use to think it was acceptable to use synthetic line without a line blanket but recently realized it's always safer to use a line blanket all the time. Thanks to a subscriber for reminding me I ordered a line blanket Monday morning.
I wish the weather would have been better so our viewers and us could have experienced the beautiful overlook together on YJ Gap in Suches, GA. The trail was wet as it rained the night before and there was a heavy mist on this day making the trail more challenging. We used 4low and first gear (6 speed manual) to crawl up the steep trail to limit wheel spin. We reached a section of the trail where we lost traction and the Jeep started sliding to the trail edge scaring Miss Stacie pretty good. This section was off camber and the trail had no rut or shelve for the tires to slide up against. We immediately stopped and set the parking brake, evaluated the situation from outside the Jeep and decided it was best to connect the winch line and winch out of this area for our own safely. The downhill side of the trail was pretty steep, and we could see where someone else got in trouble on this section as well.
