Anne Kleyböcker from the Center of Competence for Water in Berlin and Kristine Jung from ESCI talk about the 9 case studies in the ULTIMATE project.

In 9 case studies across different countries and geographical settings - 8 EU member-states & Israel - we demonstrate water-smart industrial symbiosis solutions. This is done in key industrial sectors: agro-food, food processing, beverage, biotech, chemical & petro-chemical. We learn from different configurations of symbiotic partnerships and demonstrate technologies at different TRLs. Main objective is to evaluate the performance and demonstrate at large-scale the technical feasibility of innovative technologies and symbiosis strategies. We focus on demonstrating the feasibility of the proposed technologies and Circular Economy concepts enabling the transition to more efficient symbiosis between industry and the water sector.
