The City of Vancouver is working on a neighbourhood planning program for False Creek South that will help renew the area and guide growth over the long-term that meets the needs of the community, city, and region. On November 8, 2017 the City of Vancouver held a panel discussion event to celebrate the past and look forward to the future of False Creek South. Ray Spaxman, former Vancouver City Planner, speaks about the history of False Creek South and the founding planning principles of the area.
Ray Spaxman is an architect and planner, now retired after more than 60 years of experience. Ray was deputy director of Planning in Toronto until 1973, then director of Planning for the City of Vancouver until 1989. He has since set up his own planning consultancy advising clients on a wide variety of planning and urban design projects both locally and abroad.
