What every traveler love most about Nepal is Nepal Himalaya. Tilicho lake, a high altitude lake in the Annapurna Himalaya of Annapurna region of Nepal, is certainly among the best places to visit in Nepal and Tilicho trail is one of the best side trail of Annapurna round trek. Depending on how a mountain lake is defined, Tilicho tal can be considered as not only the highest lake in the world but also as the highest freshwater lake in the world. This high altitude fresh water mountain lake is situated on the eastern slope of Tilicho Peak of Annapurna range of Nepal Himalaya at an altitude of 4920 meters from the sea level.

During the 19 days of my Annapurna circuit trek, 3 days (9th, 10th an 11th day) were spent on Tilicho lake trek, which took me from Manang to Tilicho lake. Initially while Hiking Annapurna circuit I had no idea about Tilicho trail and so Tilicho lake trekking was an unplanned part of my Annapurna circuit trekking.

Day 1: Next day after reaching Manang I decided for short nearby Gangapurna lake trek. While on the way, the Ron, whom I had met earlier on second day of my journey, was returning from Gangapurna lake and heading towards Tilicho lake. In that way I diverted myself on Tilicho trail. By evening I reached to Shree Kharka.

Day 2: Shree Kharka to Tilicho lake base camp : By the end of the second day I reached at Phedi, which commonly known as Tilicho lake base camp.

Day 3: Tilicho base camp to Tilicho lake: On the way to lake Tilicho , we passed through Tilicho lake landslide area. It was the first time when I so closely observed any high altitude lake on a mountain. Viewing the Tilicho lake evoked the feelings of strong connection with nature and so was one of the most significant experiences from my Annapurna Himalayas.
