(27 Jan 2020) Russia's Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar and American and German ambassadors to Russia attended the opening ceremony of an exhibition marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Monday.
The ceremony at the Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre in Moscow also marked the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Nazi death camp.
Rabi Lazar warned of the dangers of the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe and the US.
"We have to realise clearly that this is a challenge calling for our action to stop it today," he said.
Jewish billionaire Viktor Vekselberg and Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Juvenaly of Krutitsy and Kolomna, also attended.
