If you have your check engine light on in your car, and the trouble code says cylinder misfire detected with a number, this video will show you what to do. The number in the cylinder misfire detected message will tell you which cylinder is having the misfire problem, and you can look at the spark plug for that cylinder for any evidence of damage or wear. Most likely you just need a new spark plug, but the problem also might be your spark plug wires or maybe even the coil. That is the cheapest and easiest thing to fix. It’s also possible that The rings in the engine or the valve seals have gone bad, and oil or water or getting into the cylinder. In that case it’s a very expensive fix, and you have to rebuild the engine or at least replace the cylinder head. So if your trouble code reader tells you “cylinder 4 misfire detected” you need to look at cylinder number 4 and pull the spark plug, and see what kind of damage is there.
