Hello Ladies & Gentlemen and as always, thank you for watching!!! Today, what we thought should be a simple job, turns out to be anything but simple. A dump truck loaded with hot asphalt slid off the soft shoulder edge of a gravel road that was getting paved. One lane was freshly paved, still hot, and being rolled. I have to back our Peterbilt 389X Miller Industries, Century 1150R rotator, down one end of the county road on a narrow single lane with the same soft shoulder the dump truck had slid off of. Ethan has to back in #18, our new Western Star 9055XL, from the opposite side of the county road. Neither of us are allowed to get on the fresh asphalt pavement!!! The only thing keeping the dump truck from rolling over is the embankment it is leaning against. All of this is also on a fairly steep grade which doesn't show up well on camera, but we have a lot of things fighting against us on this job. One of the biggest obstacles is not damaging this beautiful truck!!! Believe it or not, even though it's bottomed out and in a REALLY bad spot, it doesn't appear to have much damage. Limited space, gravity, soft ground conditions, heavy load with a heavy lean. This is going to be difficult!!! Is the Midwest team up for the challenge??? Watch and see!!!
