Part I of this series is the opening ceremony, dedicated to Kafu. It takes place at the entry gate to the Lakou. The cermonies take place in November. They are a celebration of Guede. Permission is being asked of Kafou to oopen the way. Then due honor will be paid to Bawon the chief of the guedes in part II. Then Guede will take over in the form of its devotees. Much dancing and drumming will be offered.
