This year we celebrated 50 years of Notting Hill Carnival with Playing for Real: On the Road. The music and dance was created by our professional team (Ruben Fox, Andy Grappy, Claude Deppa, Mark Kavuma, Sam Agard, Shayanna Dyer-Harris, Leon Hazlewood, Leila McMillan, Nicholai La Barrie and Dave from Cov!) and young Bloco Leaders over 10 days at the Southbank Centre with 152 young people aged 14-25 from London. We also had some friends join us from BeatLife in Liverpool and Drumestra/Foxford School in Coventry. Costumes designed by Lesley-Ann Halls and created by Carolyn Ebanks, Iola Weir and Shirley McDavid with the help of some amazing Bloco Mums and Aunties!
