This is the 4.0 Restoration version of A Bellwether in Ones Cap. It is part of my project of restoring and remastering Mighty Max - check out my channel for more and don't forget to subscribe if you want to get new episodes as I upload them.

This 4.0 version has improved audio mastering and a higher framerate for better motion, but otherwise retains the 3.0 color balance, levels, noise reduction etc.

Please don't expect Blu-ray quality just because this video is HD. That just isn't realistic considering the source. An analogue VHS tape will never yield true HD. What I've done is a careful upscale in order to improve anti-aliasing and preserve detail. But an upscale doesn't ADD detail that isn't there from the beginning.

What you CAN expect is a high quality, very watchable video, even looking OK on a bigger screen.

Some steps I've taken:

*A good source (commercial VHS tapes without big problems, sometimes unused)
*A quality capture (SVHS player with TBC, S-video cable, saved as AVI file with lossless codec)
*Digital cleanup process (deinterlacing, remove blended frames, fix audio crackle, color correct, noise reduction, anti-aliasing etc)
* Final encode with high bitrate, lossless H.264 compression
