Fatima, Portugal, May 13, 1917, a beautiful Sunday of clear skies, where the sun was shining in all its splendor. Lucia, Jacinta, and Francisco walked and played on that beautiful Sunday while the sheep were grazing. Then, suddenly, they watched as a flash of lightning surprised them... Thus began the first apparition of Our Lady at Fatima, one of the most important events of the 20th century.
