A community is still in shock after five people were shot near the Safeway along Rainier Avenue South Friday night.
KOMO News learned two of the five victims are part of the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County. Seattle police said the shooting happened while people gathered for a community outreach event.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of King County said their Safe Passage Team have been gathering with the community every Friday to provide free meals and a safe space for people. In a press release, they said they'd been hosting it for the past three years and add nothing like this has ever happened.
