美•멕시코 국경 긴장고조 '42호정책' 폐지 앞두고 이민자 급증

Those rules, known as Title 42 have been replaced by stricter requirements for asylum seekers as of midnight on Thursday.
The COVID-19-era policy gave border officials the power to expel migrants.
However, with the COVID-19 health emergency coming to an end, more stringent rules have been implemented with more funds and officials dispatched to the border.
Almost all migrants who enter the U.S. illegally will be denied asylum.
Those who have passed through another country without seeking refuge elsewhere or don't apply online will also be barred.
