Today Kim Isaac from Autism With Excellence and I are having our monthly meeting and talking about issues with memory. Have you ever asked your child what they did today or yesterday and the answer doesn't line up, or you don't get an answer? Or you ask questions and can't get an answer without visual supports? If so, you may find this interesting.
I've been trying to decipher what Samara is processing, and how she's processing things so I can put the best support in place for her. Where I once thought it was just auditory processing, I'm now also suspecting this may have to do with memory formation and recall.
For those just here to see Samara you can forward to 56:13 and see about 8 minutes of us going over our day together using video and pictures.
I apologize for some competing noise from Samara's Ipad. Also we had some recording issues with zoom so this starts straight into the conversation but you don't miss much. ;)

"RDI® is a significant departure from traditional ASD interventions, and does not simply seek to mask the condition with scripted conversations or rehearsed behaviors. Our model allows for neuro-cognitive changes to occur over time that provide the individual with the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges on their own. By developing this capacity for dynamic thinking, we open the door to the possibility of a greater quality of life that includes: reciprocal communication, genuine friendships, confident, independent living, prolonged relationships and meaningful employment"
