The United Nations Food Systems Summit (UNFSS 2021) has come at a time the world needs to shift to responsible production and consumption if we are to End Hunger, Malnutrition and build a transformative Food Systems.

On the backdrop of this, I am happy spearheading and supporting youth-led initiatives with the objective to create an enabling platform for youth voices and individuals engaged in the functioning and value chain of food systems in Africa and globally.

In total I have organized and convened 5 Independent Youth Dialogues in all adhering to the 7 principles of engagement of the Food Systems Summit, and assisted in 3 global youth dialogues.

What I loved about the dialogues was the enthusiasm, creativity and innovative ideas shared by participants.
On this note, I will say, the Food Systems Summit must not just be a one off gathering but rather a yearly recognized and institutionalized engagement that will be used monitor, track, and expedite ACTIONS towards building a better future of of affordable, safe accessible and nutritious FOOD FOR ALL.

I call on all Stakeholders to make the Youth Engagements of the Dialogues take more centre stage and spotlight than the major players.

Lastly, Member States Conveners should be more responsive and serve as active support roles in Youth-led Independent Country Dialogues.
