Camino tips: What are the most important things you need to know before walking El Camino de Santiago? In this video, I share my thoughts on walking El Camino and offer plenty of tips for those of you who'd like to hike Camino de Santiago. Hope it helps! Walking Camino Portugues Coastal, which is a stunning alternative route to the traditional Camino Portugues Central, has been both a challenge and a wonderful experience. One thing that stood out to me was the difference between walking on hard surfaces vs. forest or mountains. So be mindful of the shoes you're wearing because on Camino de Santiago you'll walk both on hard surfaces and in nature.
We chose to walk Camino Portugues Coastal and it took us 8 days—7 days of hiking and one rest day in Vigo. This was our itinerary:
Day 1: A Guarda to Baiona
Day 2: Baiona to Vigo
Day 3: Rest day in Vigo
Day 4: Vigo to Redonela
Day 5: Redondela to Pontevedra
Day 6: Pontevedra to Caldas de Reis
Day 7: Caldas de Reis to Padron
Day 8: Padron to Santiago de Compostela
