Schools in the Northern areas of Port Elizabeth in Eastern Cape will remain closed today after protests turned violent on Monday. Police fired rubber bullets and used water cannons to disperse the protesters. Pupils and parents were marching over the closure of more than 30 schools due to a shortage of teachers.
