Join me on another epic bike packing trip as I cycle from my apartment in Kyoto all the way to Mt. Fuji!
This was my first opportunity to see Fuji-san up close after living in Japan for over 13 years, so I was super excited!
Over 10 days I made my way thru the hills of Shiga to the coast in Mie prefecture, took a right at the coast and 65k later caught a ferry from Toba to Aichi prefecture, where I cycled up the south coast to Hamamatsu. Finally, after stopping off in Shizuoka city to buy a Rinko bag so I could catch the Shinkansen home, I reached Fuji city where I stayed the night, and then cycled mostly up hill for a day to the very base of Mt. Fuji, where I made camp for the last night in heavy rain before heading back to Kyoto.
Along the way I met some lovely people, ate amazing food, cycled thru some stunning parts of Japan I've never seen before... and got kicked out of a camping ground because "no camping allowed!"
I also happened to come across the Hamamatsu kite festival which was really something to behold. And look out for the cute little Japanese kid that shouts "It's a youtuber!"
So please join me on this colorful adventure and don't forget to subscribe if you like what you see and would like to see more! Thank you, or as they say in Kansai... Okini!
