You might have learned about the puritan colony in Massachusetts in American History class, but what you probably didn't learn about was its Caribbean sister colony called Providence Island. Unlike the humble New England colony, Providence Island would turn to slavery and piracy during its short 10 year life and completely abandon its devout intentions.
