We are Jill and Monae, We are a full time LGBTQ travel couple finding ourselves in Tulum Mexico. WE ALMOST DIED FINDING THIS MEXICAN CENOTE | Life In Tulum Our time in Tulum was filled with Cenotes, the annual Tulum Algae plum, and gave us time to reset. We booked our trip to Mexico 12 hours in advance because we were feeling like we needed some time to ourselves. We had spent the month of February in El Salvador with friends (which was awesome) However, it had been a minute since Jill and I had time by ourselves. Full time travel as female travelers used to scare us, but now that we have safety tips for LGBTQ travelers we know that it is relatively safe to be solo female travelers.
Mexico is a huge country, giving very different experiences depending on what area you choose to travel to. When asking where to travel in Mexico, its important to ask about the type of experience you are looking for. To no surprise most people go to Mexico for the beautiful beaches, so places like Tulum, Cabo, and Cancun would be best.
We get the question, is it safe to travel as a same sex couple? Although being part of the LGBTQ community and traveling does pose different challenges, traveling as a same sex couple is safe if you know the local LGBTQ laws in the country you go to.
Being a travel couple on YouTube has more or less tuned us into digital nomads. When we first started, we had to ask how to be a digital nomad with no skills. Even though we were making YouTube travel videos and sharing our experience on TikTok, we found it to be somewhat overwhelming.
