WFIL 56 Philadelphia - George Michael - 1968
Famous 56 WFIL, & The Pop Explosion was a radio powerhouse in Philadelphia, from 1966, into the 1970s! The station was tight, cranked out the hits, and had some of Philly’s biggest personalities, the WFIL Boss Jocks.... Jim O’Brien, JJ Jeffrey, Dick Heatherton, Dr Don Rose, Chuck Browning, Joel Denver, Dan Donovan, Long John Wade, Joe Niagra, and of course, the voice heard on this aircheck, George Michael.
King George ruled nights in Philadelphia, as he played the hits, and stayed on top of all the high school sports. You rarely heard George make a mistake on the air. He was the textbook example of flawless execution. He was probably on of the best ever at hitting a song’s post. All of this is probably what got the attention of 77 WABC New York, who hired Gorge away from WFIL in 1974

One of You Tube's oldest RADIO AIRCHECK MUSEUM with a NEW VIDEO posted daily at 3PM EST.
After over 40 years working on the radio, I have recorded lots of radio airchecks, and many from my friends as well.
You'll find audio of many radio personalities who have passed away. Lots radio recordings from the 1940s, through the 2010.
We also talk about radio broadcasting. If you happen to have classic airchecks, maybe even of yourself on the air, we'd love to share it here!
We also share videos about Travel & Cruising. I share tips on how I travel cheaply, so you can do it also! Find me on Facebook: [ Ссылка ]
