Praying with Images: Lectures from Erdahaus

In 2002 artist and teacher Meinrad Craighead led one of her four-day workshops for a small group of women in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The lectures she gave during the workshop explore themes related to Meinrad’s emphasis on meditating and praying with imagery from all over the world.

You might notice that some of the titles of images do not match what Meinrad says in her lecture. The titles we have used come from Meinrad’s notations on the slide she was showing and are probably correct. Meinrad lectured without notes, and when these videos were made, she was in the beginning stages of small vessel disease which affected her memory. She may also make inaccurate references to scripture or mythology. If you notice any such errors, please do be in touch and we will start notes that can eventually accompany the lectures.
