Raw test - no tripod, no external mic. no edits. Video straight out of cammera, sound included.
Another short macro test and demonstration of using Nikon D750 this time in afc (continuous) mode for closeup macro video. Video was made in difficult conditions - in windy weather, midday on straight, strong sun. Without any edits or postproduction.
Gear used:
Nikon D750 and AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f-2.8G IF-ED
Problems:
In afc mode cammera is trying to permantly keeping the focus. Similar to afs you can see the cammera shifts up and down when focusing at current point and also producing disturbing noises. At 1:00 you can notice the cammera problem to track focus on closer plants. I had to manually focus closer to afc work again.
Nikkor 105mm is really great macro lens but also pretty heavy to hand held in moving videos.
To compensate the problems you can:
Avoid the disturbing noises by using external microphone.
Manual focus for smooth focus.
Use tripod for smoother moving.
Postproduction to reduce shaking and adjustments.
Try adjust aperture to reach deeper depth of field.
