A youth voice and involvement project managed and delivered by Go-Getta CIC featuring young people from Loughborough, Leicestershire.
Through workshops and youth work sessions, over 30 young people were supported to explore the causes and impacts of serious youth violence, and use their ideas and voices to write and record tracks to convey their lived experiences. 'Blame it on the Streets' highlights the stories of these young people, providing insight into their realities. These young people or "changemakers" wrote, produced and directed the project from inception to completion, with the vocal performance delivered by two local young talents; Arpey (aged 20) and DeDe (aged 11).
This project has been supported and funded by the LLR Violence Reduction Network and Streetgames Midlands. A special thank you to the Youth Social Action fund by the Coop.
