페루 집중호우로 72명 사망, 811 도시 비상사태
The death toll in Peru resulting from the worst mudslides and flooding in decades has risen to at least 72.
Peruvian authorities say the intense rains affected more than half the nation,... and that includes even the capital Lima, where a desert climate seldom leads to precipitation.
In the Lambayeque region, 22 inmates at a juvenile detention center took advantage of the sitation to escape.
While in Trujillo, a cemetery was flooded, leading to bones flowing through the streets.
Armed forces have been deployed to help police maintain public order in the 8-hundred-and-11 cities that declared a state of emergency.
The presidents of Chile, Bolivia and Venezuela have offered to send help.
Unfortunately meteorologists expect the storms to continue for another two weeks.
