DAFNI webinar with Dr Robert Nicholls
Robert Nicholls is based at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia. He has a long experience of analysing long-term coastal problems and finding solutions. Much of his work has focused on sea-level rise and climate change. A distinctive dimension has been consideration of the coastal zone as a series of interacting systems which facilitates policy analysis. He also has extensive international and global experience, especially in coastal cities, deltas and small islands. He has advised national governments (e.g., UK, Netherlands, Bangladesh, Singapore) and intergovernmental organisations (e.g., OECD) on climate change and coastal issues. He was a lead author to five reports of the Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) assessment process. He leads the OpenCLIM Project which is developing methods for integrated assessment to support national and sub-national policy analysis on climate change risks and adaptation using the DAFNI platform.
