I know what you guys are thinking, why should I go see a doctor and get a prescription for a benzodiazepine when I can just buy GABA over the counter? It’s an interesting idea, and in theory if you use GABA, it should be binding to those GABA-A receptors and reducing anxiety in no time. The problem is when you take GABA it does not cross the blood brain barrier and therefore cannot get into the central nervous system to cause an anxiolytic effect. There you have it, I just saved you $20 bucks a month.
