the german word ‘vorfreude’, put together by vor (before) and freude (joy), means prejoy or joyful anticipation. to me, it means so much more than that. it’s a mix of emotions when u r anticipating or waiting for something that’s about to happen in ur life. so there r happiness, excitement, u feel like u have butterflies in ur stomach, fear, regret n even thoughts like i shouldn’t have done it. this state of ambivalence happens quite a lot especially when i’m about to make important decision in my life, either it’s about school, work or love. through this song, i wanna tell u, that everything is going to be okay. even if u make mistake, u’ll learn from it. n i’m talking from experience here. beside that, u got people around u that can help u grown lift u up if u fall.
this time around i got the chance to perform this song in my HOMECOMiNG tour with a different format. singing this song with deabdil n amira karin emphasize the meaning of 'vorfreude’ even more. i really hope this song could lift u up as well n together we could face the future with faith n courage.
