The Kenya Union of post-primary education teachers has issued a 14-day notice to the Teachers Service Commission to reinstate the 742 JSS intern teachers who were on strike. KUPPEt is threatening to seek legal redress. This comes weeks after KUPPET had announced that the teachers could return to work as the issued show cause letters had been withdrawn. However, two days after resuming work, the JSS teachers started receiving termination letters, a matter that TSC claims was based on professional misconduct and unsatisfactory reasons for absence from work.
