Public Protector Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane plans to challenge the three counts of perjury charges against her. Mkhwebane made her first court appearance before the Pretoria Magistrates court where the matter was postponed until the 25th of March. Her legal team described the perjury charges as frivolous and contrived. Mkhwebane plans to file an application to the NPA to have the charges formally withdrawn.
