"Return to Le Mans", produced by Allegro Film Productions for Ford documents the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans sports car race in Le Mans, France, during which AJ Foyt and Dan Gurney became the first and only All-American team to win. Several Ford models, especially the MK IV, are highlighted.

The Ford GT40 was based upon the Lola Mk6, and engineered and built by Ford Advanced Vehicles. The Mk IV model was designed and built in the United States. Ford specifically made it to compete in endurance races including the 24 hours of Le Mans. The Mk2 beat Ferrari in 1966 and Ford went on to win in '67-'69.
